Turning Conflict Into Closure

Experienced. Engaged. Tenacious.

What I Bring

Experience

Experience

Conflict is rarely just about the facts. It is driven by unmet needs, fractured relationships, and the gap between what people want and what they believe they deserve. I have spent decades in the middle of disputes at their most intense — watching what hardens positions, what creates movement, and what allows people to finally let go. That experience informs how I approach every mediation: not as an arbiter of right and wrong, but as someone who understands the anatomy of conflict and what it takes to create the conditions for resolution.

Engagement

Engagement

The transformation from conflict to agreement doesn’t begin when all parties gather for a mediation session — it begins before. I meet with each side separately, creating the space for candid conversation before the harder one starts. In the mediation itself, I work with the parties to find common ground, build understanding, and open the path forward.

Tenacity

Tenacity

If the dispute is not resolved at the mediation session, I remain available and engaged — following up with the parties, helping them bridge the gaps that remain, and sustaining the momentum toward resolution. I stay with the process until the conflict is resolved or the parties themselves determine that it cannot be.

Where I Can Help

Conflict doesn’t wait for a lawsuit to be filed. I work with parties at every stage — before litigation begins, during active cases, and in disputes that may never see a courtroom. From contractual disagreements and business conflicts to personal injury claims, real estate disputes, construction defect, trust and estate matters, defamation, and community conflicts of all kinds, the goal is always the same: resolution on terms the parties can live with.

Who I Am

After 35 years as a civil litigator, I have seen conflict from the inside — what it costs, what it takes, and what it leaves behind. Even as an advocate, I found myself drawn less to the perpetuation of disputes than to their resolution. I watched the emotional toll conflict took on both sides, and recognized that the system built around it often served the process more than the people in it. That tension never left me.

In recent years, I turned my attention to the art and discipline of mediation — studying its strategies, principles, and practice with the same rigor I brought to litigation. What I found was not a departure from my career, but its natural destination.

I bring to that destination 35 years of experience representing plaintiffs and defendants across the full range of civil disputes — personal injury, real estate, construction defect, trust and estate, defamation, and more. I have been on both sides of the table, in cases of every size and complexity, and have participated in countless mediations as counsel. I know how disputes are built, how they harden, and what it finally takes to bring them to a close.

That knowledge now serves a different purpose. Not to win, but to help others find their way out of conflict.
